The Consortium for Battery Innovation (CBI) is the world’s only global pre-competitive research organization funding research into lead batteries for energy storage, motive and automotive applications.
For more than 25 years, with its global membership of battery manufacturers, industry suppliers, research institutes and universities, CBI has delivered cutting-edge research pushing the boundaries of innovation in lead battery technology, setting the standard for advanced lead batteries and the next generation of energy storage.
EUROBAT is the association for the European manufacturers automotive, industrial and energy storage batteries.
EUROBAT has more than 50 members from across the continent and from the whole supply chain comprising more than 90% of the automotive and industrial battery industry in Europe.
The members and staff work with all stakeholders, such as battery users, governmental organisations and media, to develop new battery solutions in areas of hybrid and electro-mobility as well as grid flexibility and renewable energy storage.
Axelera is the French cluster at the crossroads of the chemical and environmental sectors. It was created in 2005 in the Rhône-Alpes region of France. Axelera is committed to developing sustainable, efficient, circular and clean solutions for industry. Axelera’s network of 370 members gathers expertise in:
- Materials, chemicals, equipment and system manufacturing;
- Equipment and systems manufacturing and integration;
- Process engineering, energy and resource efficiency, and regulatory compliance;
- Recycling/reuse of various industrial by-products and end-of-life products;
- Water, air, and soil depollution;
- Renewable raw materials;
- Digitalisation of industry.
Axelera is recognised as an « Innovative project factory ». Two-thirds of Axelera’s members are companies from start-ups to large multinationals, and 1/3 are RTOs and universities. »
CARA, European Cluster for mobility solutions, brings together 230 members: manufacturers, transport operators, research, and training centers. CARA is labeled Cluster of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, Competitiveness Cluster and associate member of the PFA, Automotive and Mobility Sector.
A benchmark in Europe, CARA supports changes in passenger and goods transport systems and supports 6 sectors: industrial vehicle, automobile, cable transport, river transport, active and sustainable mobility, rail.
From idea to market, CARA implements collective actions: research and innovation projects, real-life demonstrators, actions for the economic and industrial development of its members.
Our initiatives focus on innovation in passenger and goods transport systems: vehicle development, new transport organizations, ITS, mobility services, autonomous vehicles, energy mix, flow management, safety, support tools to decision, etc.
The Tenerrdis energy cluster supports sustainable economic growth and the creation of long-lasting jobs in the new energy technology industries. It coordinates a 244 members network spanning industry, government, academia, and scientific research to address the challenges of the energy transition.
Associated with copper, manganese, silver and even air, zinc powered our portable devices such as flashlights, hearing aids or radios for decades. Long considered as non-rechargeable, zinc is now regaining interest for the role it could play in the electrification of the economy. Thanks to its sustainable properties – abundant, affordable, recyclable, non-toxic and safe – zinc is preparing its come back at the front of the stage as a credible candidate for Energy Storage and e-mobility applications.
R-Zinc is the only conference entirely dedicated to rechargeable zinc batteries organized in Europe. During this event, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in this market and visit the largest zinc oxide production plant in Europe where battery demonstrations will take place.
With the ever exponentially growing battery market and the recent wake-up call for the preservation of the environment and the Earth’s natural resources, the world is now faced with two contradicting issues: the substantial increase in development of batteries and the consequent need of a rapidly decreasing raw material resources for their production.
From new environmental regulations and frameworks, research on new and efficient recycling procedures, to new innovative business models built around the circular economy; recycling and second-life have now become part of the main concerns of the battery industry.
The Batteries Event will cover all aspects of the battery circular economy, beginning from the production of the battery through raw materials, battery manufacturing, battery use and safety, management and applications, going through market trends, research and development, new technologies and finally closing the loop with a focus recycling, second life and regulations.
The Circular Economy has thus become one of our main issues too!
