Starting in 2020, she is focusing on battery modeling, specifically on all solid-state cells, mostly while working on a project related to urban air mobility at the Institute of Applied Materials-Electrochemical Technology, Karlsruhe, as a post-doc. Marina Urbina is European Programme Manager of the Electricity and Hydrogen for Transport Department within the Energy Division at the Alternative Energy and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). She obtained a PhD in Chemistry from the University Autonoma of Madrid in 1999 awarded by a Spanish Government National Grant and was beneficiary of a Post-Doctoral Marie Curie European Grant in the Large Group Rhodia Researchers in Paris, nowadays Syensqo. Her research activities were focused mainly on the study of luminescence techniques in minerals applied to dosimetry studies, the analysis of rare earths in phosphor materials and synthesis of phosphor materials. During her scientific period she was author of 14 scientific publications and 3 patents. She is involved on European affairs at CEA since 2012 where she has participated and coordinated the setting up of more than 100 Research and Innovation European proposals devoted to Batteries and Hydrogen technologies, Materials for Energy, Renewable Energies, Additive Manufacturing Technologies, Circular Economy, Nanosafety, Key Enabling Technologies. She was member of the French National Contact Point for the theme NMBP (Nanotechnologies, Advanced Materials, Biotechnology and Advanced Manufacturing and Processing) of the Horizon 2020 European Programme, member of the Executive Board of NANOFUTURES Association and Chairwoman of its Research and Technology Working group. She is currently an active member of the Battery Partnership, participating on two working groups: WP3: Advanced Materials and WP4: Cell design and manufacturing.
