BORGES CARNEIRO Andreia

Andreia Carneiro is a Chemical Engineer currently working as a Research Fellow – Process Engineer at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Australia. She holds a PhD in residue valorisation from QUT and a Master’s Degree in real-time optimisation (RTO) from the University of Sao Paulo (USP) in Brazil. Her current research focuses on developing sustainable processes for the extraction of critical minerals and rare earth elements from various resources to support the global energy transition. Her work combines chemical/process engineering, circular economy strategies, and mine residue valorisation, with experience across both academia and industry. Through her research, she aims to advance innovative and sustainable technologies that contribute to resilient supply chains and a low-carbon future.
